Marie-Aurélie Nef, Professional Coach
What shaped the way I coach
Before becoming a professional coach, I spent more than a decade navigating the realities of leadership in the tech industry, from early-stage startups, to fast-growing scale-ups, to large international tech companies. That range of experience gave me a concrete understanding of the pressures people face at every stage — and of what kind of support actually helps.
Before that, I taught. And today, I coach adults navigating transitions, pressure, and periods of uncertainty.
These experiences shaped a shared conviction: pushing harder is rarely the most sustainable way forward. Understanding what's really at stake, finding clarity, and building a direction that genuinely feels yours often requires something else: perspective, attention, and space to think.

Tech, leadership & demanding environments
Tech taught me a great deal about complex systems — but mostly about the people inside them.
I've seen highly capable people gradually lose their footing, their energy, or their connection to what mattered most. Many of the women I support work in demanding professional environments, a reality I know from the inside.
Those years taught me that performance alone doesn't build something lasting.
Teaching & learning
Before coaching, I spent several years teaching in engineering schools, technical colleges, and through private tutoring — working mainly with students in computer science, networking, and telecommunications.
That experience deeply shaped the way I work. Teaching isn't simply about transmitting knowledge or methods. It's about understanding how someone thinks, where they get stuck, what gives them confidence, and what helps them move forward autonomously.
It's an approach I bring to every coaching engagement.

Creativity, presence, and transformation
Painting and piano have been an important part of my life for a long time.
Creating has taught me that not everything can be forced. It takes work and commitment — but also the ability to stay present to what's emerging, without rushing it into shape.
That relationship with creation deeply influences the way I coach today.
My coaching practice
I hold a professional coaching certification from the Haute École de Coaching, with additional specialization in educational coaching.
I work in regular supervision to continue questioning and refining my practice. Since 2021, I've also been engaged in ongoing personal therapeutic work — to better understand my own patterns and blind spots, and to offer a space that is as clear and respectful as possible.
My approach is not about pushing people further at any cost. I work with people who want to move forward in ways that are more sustainable, more human, and more aligned with what truly matters to them.

Today
I work primarily with people navigating professional transitions, sustained pressure, or periods of deep questioning.
Every engagement is different.
But they all begin in the same place: taking the time to understand what's really going on.
